April 8, 2016 — CAMBRIDGE, Mass., April 8, 2016 – Seven Bridges, the biomedical data analysis company, today announced that it was honored with a Bio-IT World Best of Show award for the Cancer Genomics Cloud (CGC) it built as a part of the National Cancer Institute’s ongoing pilot program. The Best of Show awards program at the Bio-IT World Conference & Expo recognizes the top innovative product solutions for the life sciences industry on display at the conference, which took place April 5-7 in Boston.

Powered by Seven Bridges, the CGC is the first complete ecosystem to give cancer researchers immediate access to one of the world’s largest genomic datasets — The Cancer Genome Atlas (TCGA) — and the computational resources to analyze it. The Seven Bridges CGC pilot went live in February of this year and today more than 400 participants are using the ecosystem to analyze TCGA data in conjunction with their own research.

The Best of Show program relies on a panel of expert judges from academia and industry who screen eligible new products and hear presentations on site. This year, a record-breaking 46 new products in IT and the life sciences were considered in four categories. Seven Bridges was named a winner for Informatics Tools & Data Analytics.
